horo for the day…
It doesn’t matter how many times you reestablish boundaries, the drama of loved ones never fails to infiltrate. Count to ten and go to your happy place.
San Francisco: The Miniature City from MINIMUS.
i am absolutely LOVING this time-lapse video of some popular San Francisco tourist spots using a tilt-shift lens by Shukhrat Pardaev.

i stumbled across it while following CALIBER‘s twitter feed. CALIBER is another source for unbridled creativity coming out of the city.
soooo inspiring!!
CHECK IT OOOOUT!!!
an intimate affair with a grilled cheese sando…
ive eaten at BLUE BARN GOURMET once before.
i remember it being GOOD. a bit pricey, but well worth it.
great quality, quaint barn-y atmosphere, good sized portions, and the fact that they support organic, local farmers is the cherry on top.
today, on my way home from my haircut in the Marina, wandering Chestnut street in search of a good to-go lunch i decided to revisit Blue Barn.
and holy fucking shit…sometimes there is nothing better in life than an AMAZING SANDWICH. and the one i had today was iiiiincredible and toootally satisfying and perfect in every way!!!!!!
the crusty grilled bread. the juicy heirloom tomatoes. the medley of cheeses and wad of fresh greens in the center. it dripped. it crunched. and it was large enough to require digestion breaks in between.
today’s sandwich experience goes down as one of the best EVER. No joke. i will be thinking about it for quite a while….
Blue Barn Burrata Grilled Cheese sando:
{ingredients: heirloom tomatoes, fresh mozzarella burrata, arugula & pesto aioli}
…..NAP TIME!
Las Vegas and Venice seem to be photographed almost entirely by tourists…
Other cities seem to have many pictures taken in places that tourists don’t visit.
curious as how a statement like this is confirmed?
wellllllll, Artist/Geotagger/active Flickr-er Eric Fischer has created a slide show [somehow] able to identify at a certain period in time, if a photo is being taken by a local (people who have taken pictures in this city dated over a range of a month or more), a tourist (people who seem to be a local of a different city and who took pictures in this city for less than a month), or some other creature (pictures where it can’t be determined whether or not the photographer was a tourist [because they haven't taken pictures anywhere for over a month]. They are probably tourists but might just not post many pictures at all).
nuts….right?
well, besides being an incredibly interesting observation that makes me reflect on my own obsessive photo-snapping behaviors…some of these images are just BEAUTIFUL to me.
[Blue pictures are by locals. Red pictures are by tourists. Yellow pictures are undetermined]

Travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living.

gastrohipsters, coolhunting & oversharing…. OH MY
im LOVING this article The Dumpling Effect: The Trouble with Coolhunting your Dinner
i’ve definitely waited more than ten minutes for a slice of pizza…of course i’ve taken countless pictures of sandwiches (and then some, ahem foodspotting.com/KaylanS) ….call me what you want, but yes i do believe i belong as a part of this Foodie subculture.
i also fully agree that ‘there is something to be said for Just Experiencing something and letting the sole record of it be your memory. It’s worked for centuries.’
sometimes NOT tweeting/capturing/yelping/blogging the shit out of a meal makes it that much more special.
yes….i know im twisted…..
thoughts, thoughts, noise, noise, noise
Horo for the day
…its important to have some quiet time to reconnect with your inner thoughts. Even if you attempt to avoid your feelings now, you still must face them once the current noise dies.
